After watching Kate Messner host #TeachersWrite for a few years I finally and impulsively decide to join up this year.
Today’s mini-lesson is an invitation to wonder.
My wonder list:
I wonder about the new wave of Puerto Rican immigrants to Florida & Texas and the struggles of being of a place and not.
I wonder about the Corsicans who came to Puerto Rico at the end of the 19th century and searched for little hillside towns to move to.
I wonder who invited them to come, and why come then?
I wonder about what things you need to have to make you feel at home.
In order to increase my knowledge of my library’s collection and model reading to my students I will be taking part Donalyn Miller’s Book-a-day Challenge.
I will write mini-review reflections here on the children/YA books I read this summer between June 20 and September 3rd. I will track all my reading and any adult books I read for review will be posted in my review blog : Immersed in Books
